Madison Heiniger, LSW
Hello! My name is Madison (she/her/hers), and I am providing therapy services to adolescents and adults who may be struggling emotionally within this chaotic and ever-changing world. I graduated from Ball State University with my bachelor’s degree in social work, and then went to pursue my master’s degree in social work from Indiana University Indianapolis with a focus on mental health and addictions. In addition, I am a Licensed Social Worker through the state of Indiana.
I have previously worked in several different mental health settings with a wide range of populations. During my undergraduate practicum, I spent a semester working as a school social worker with children and adolescents struggling with mental health concerns. Within my master’s program, I worked as a group facilitator within an outpatient and partial hospitalization mental health setting for the early adolescent and young adult populations. My passion for working with eating disorders started after one of my family members struggled with Anorexia, and how difficult it was to find adequate services needed to treat the complex mental illness. Together, I want to help you find ways to challenge your disordered thoughts and cope healthily with everyday triggers. In addition, I wish to build resilience and hope through overcoming barriers or struggles that seem impossible to overcome.
I utilized many different therapy approaches within my practice, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and MANY more. In addition, I like to switch up my therapy modalities by utilizing tools such as worksheets, psychoeducation, videos, games, and mindfulness exercises. Sessions are tailored to the individual client and their needs, meaning we can try new approaches and techniques depending on what you feel is working for you!
Outside of work, I enjoy hiking, reading, gardening/being outdoors, shopping, playing with my dogs, and spending time with family and friends.
