Emily Ervin, MA, LMHC, NCC

Emily is a licensed mental health counselor (LMHC) and a national certified counselor (NCC) who is more than willing to walk alongside you in your journey to food and body freedom. Emily believes therapy is one of the bravest things people choose to do and it's a gift to get to be a part of that story with clients. Emily has experience with adolescents and adults in settings including outpatient, partial hospitalization, and inpatient/residential care. She has special interest in complex trauma/post-traumatic stress disorder, personality disorders, body image, and eating disorders. Emily has additional training utilizing Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to assist clients in not only changing behaviors, but also processing the underlying experiences that led to emotions, thoughts, and behaviors. Emily offers a safe space for clients to show up wherever they are in the treatment process. She believes safety and trust is the most important part of the therapeutic process. This work is so hard, but so worth it. Emily’s biggest priority for you is to reach your goals to live in freedom to not need therapy anymore, but until then she will be your biggest supporter.

As a current doctoral student focusing on counselor education and supervision, she emphasizes the significance of educating counselors-in-training about eating disorders. Emily's dedication to this cause reflects her commitment to advocating for proper training and understanding among future professionals to effectively support their clients regarding health and eating disorder issues.

In her spare time, Emily is likely visiting new coffee shops, bullet journaling, or reading. She also loves spending time with her great dane pup!
