Eating Disorder Treatment

Eating disorders are complex given their biological, genetic, psychological, social, and cultural roots. Treatment at RoundTable Wellness addresses the root cause(s) of the eating disorder, not just the symptoms.

Our multidisciplinary treatment team understands these complexities and are deeply committed to provide guidance so that you can achieve lasting recovery. We include family and loved ones at all levels of treatment as appropriate, with the understanding that “family” is not always biological.

Our approach centers around the belief that full recovery is possible for everyone!

Your body is always deserving of food. You don’t have to earn it.

〰️

No food will ever hurt you as much as your eating disorder will.

〰️

If only our eyes saw souls instead of bodies, how very different our ideals of beauty would be.

  • Our licensed therapists and registered dietitians trained in eating disorder treatment and recovery will work together to build an individualized treatment plan for each individual. This starts with 2 comprehensive assessments to determine diagnoses, level of care needs, and best suited providers. Treatment frequency is based on clinical need and the client’s ability to engage. Usually a client will engage for weekly one-on-one sessions with their therapist and dietitian. As treatment progresses, frequencies can decrease.

  • Eating disorders can consume a person’s every moment, requiring them to fight multiple battles every day. Fighting these battles alone is exhausting and can make lasting recovery difficult to achieve and maintain.

Experts agree that involving the support of loved ones can greatly impact a client’s chance at lasting recovery. Eating disorders thrive in isolation, and so bringing in a client’s village—whether that’s family, chosen family, friends, colleagues, or others—makes it more difficult for the illness to survive.

At RoundTable Wellness your providers will involve the client’s loved-ones as they see fit. We can help loved-ones understand how best to support each client’s individual needs.
